1306'11 Day 1; Guanwei, Tony, Reuyfeng, Jinheng and me is gonna be there to help out the others! Motive to go for the camp is to see how much progress has my Sec 3s made so far. Cycle all the way to Serangoon Central to eat breakfast then help to buy Coffee back for the Sir to drink. After that, went to Serangoon Central again with Tony them cause they want to eat breakfast. We help to buy the lunch back for the Instructors too. Because I got bicycle, I become the coffee delivery girl for the day. First day of camp was really messy as alot of stuffs was undone by the Sec 3s. They take a long time to do their campcraft but still wasn't that good yet. Lunch time, they are like Sec 1s that doesnt seem to be familiar with the mastins and stove. Continued by tent-pitching skills, I took a group to teach them how to tie the tentage. They were easily distracted, not paying attention, no sense of urgency. They think that everything is easy so they slowly do and dont want to ask questions. I got really fed up by those thinking. MaoJie got his asthma attack then was sent to the hospital for the day. Hope he's really gonna be okay. The first day was really disappointment to me. My squadmates and me slept on the Sit Up bench for the day instead. It was so hard to fall asleep, man! I hope the second day would be alot better.
1406'11 Day 2; Woke up in the morning, 5am plus then wash up, PT time but there's casualties and I stay behind to take care of them as my ankle hasnt really recover yet. Maojie came back for camp even though that we went to Hospital yesterday. Really touch by his enthusiasm for the camp. After breakfast, we had Rifle drills and we help to teach the juniors too. Around 2-3 hours of drills then they had lunch. It was my favourite session after lunch and it was Song Session! I join in and should be having alot of fun but the Sec 3s still dont know how to make the atmosphere to sing. The instructors joined in and made a better atmosphere but time was up then they had to go do their drills again. Whole day was having Drills; Basic, Baton then Rifle. They are like following what we've done last year. Whole day drills but we had longer hours doing drills. After washing up, I saw the some juniors seem to have problems polishing their boots so I went up to them and teach them. All of them damn scared of me that I might steal their rifle but I wont go steal infront of them, of course! Around 2am plus, all of them was sleeping then my squad went up to the ISH and steal their rifles. We went with the total of 3 rounds and stole a total of 14 rifles out of 24 rifles. We had fun stealing their rifles but this is to let them learn a lesson to safe-keep their stuffs. Imagine you lose your rifle when you're in NS. It will be more worst! We decided to sleep on the Safari Bed then it was kinda sticky but since we are lie on it, just sleep then.
1506'11 Day 3; I woke up then put back the Safari Bed but went to the Bench and fall asleep again, OPPS! I woke up and heard they got scolded for not taking care of their rifles. The juniors was revising on their drills for the upcoming test for them later. Joshua, my other squadmate, came down to see his squad awhile. Tony and Guanwei went to NP room with Joshua to chit chat then I went there to sleep. ARGH! Was really tired that I slept till 12noon, man! They had campcraft test after drills test. I helped to conduct the test so that the others can go take a rest first. It was damn long that 1 person almos take 30mins to 1 hour. I was so bored that while they are doing the lashings, I did jumping jacks, sit up and pumpings but they were still not done when I was done. Kok Leong Sir ask me go run 2.4KM first cause after I run finish, they are still done yet. Test end, they had drills again then they had games. The first game for the whole camp, hahas! Same as last year, on the third night, we would have some great food and this year, we had Pizza and KFC for dinner! Everybody enjoyed themselves with the food. Of course, a little more fun should be added! We had song session again! This time, the atmosphere is really different! Everybody was high and we played Musical Bubbletea also. I see improvements in everybody. We gave them Batons to protect for the night. Im not going be part of the stealing for tonight. I left the work for my squadmates. Slept in ISH with my juniors tonight!
1606'11 Day 4; I woke up and ask how many batons have they stole and they told me that they got 20batons out of 24. The other 3, the girls put inside their sleeping bag while the other one, the guy put inside his bag. The juniors move their bags to the foyer then was deployed to places to do the area cleaning. This time, they were real fast that they finish the area cleaning less than 1 hour. We had Musical Bread as there's alot of bread left then Alex won a whole pack of bread home! After that, we played Pass It On. They must pass down the message that we say and must have no mistake. The message was "2 MacMuffin, Deluxe Big Breakfast, Coffee, Tea" and alot others. I remember last year during the LMSCourse, the message from the sir was "I want 1 pack of chicken breast rice, another pack of chicken drumstick, add the livers, this pack I want add braised egg". After that, we give out the Cadet Leader T-Shirts to the juniors and debrief them. Lastly, we had alot of photos taken together! I really enjoyed this camp with my Sec 2s and Sec 3s Junior(: I really see improvement in you all; Teamwork, Better Communications, Sense of Urgency, Speak Out more than the previous times when we talk to you all, will just nod or shake your head. Though I was not feeling well with all the sprained ankle and headaches I had, after what I seen you all have done to improve yourself, I feel that it's really worth my time coming and staying over with you all. Let's make the unit a better one than before!
